AG furniture - now I want some!

Ok, so I was going along merrily, just hoping that "maybe someday" I could actually get Molly's furniture and would really be thrilled with that. The red table reminds me of my grandmother's!

That is...until I finally looked at Meg's doll room pages! Well, now I want 'em all! I've been fantasizing for the last 3 days now, since seeing those pictures and the how to's, and spent today at craft stores thinking of other ways to decorate the rooms, etc. Little mini things.

When Diana came home I gave up the corporate life and have never regretted it for one minute...I just wish I still made the money I used to. That's the only way I could ever get the furniture!

I know there are many ways to make or craft some of the items, I'm thinking I know I saw a pattern for Kaya's teepee, and a piece of fur would make a nice blanket.

I think I'm still going to hold on to my dream of that red table and chairs though!

Laurie, just remember how large the furniture is....maybe that will help with the desire to get it all [img]wink.gif[/img] Also, the furniture has been around a while so you could save up for it and the sweet dreams sets save some money also.

Here's another thought...ask Laurel on the AGBuddies list about doll furniture. She seems to have a wonderful knack of finding less expensive things for dolls that look just like they are from that time period. I know she is an expert on Kit, but she might very well have lots of ideas for Molly. She also has a lot of the doll furniture and could probably tell you what each one is like so you would know for sure what would be a good investment. The only furniture we have is Josefina's trunk and Felicity's writing chair. The chair takes up a lot of space, but the trunk is well worth the cost with the detail involved.

Do you know if they have it all on display in Chicago, I think that will really help me to visualize what type of space this would take. I do have that spare room that I was thinking would make a really cute dolly room.

You can still get all the items separately, just not discounted as a collection.

I also just noticed that Addy's table and chairs says it is sold out. Uh-oh.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Addy's desk was sold out a few months ago, prompting concerns about possible retirement that turned out to be unfounded (phew!), so I wouldn't be too concerned about this, at least not just yet.

Even the bed is homemade! Some of the things in the photo of Molly are purchased, but most are homemade items.

This is how I support my hobby...making things makes it easier. The only problem is that it's easier to afford getting furniture (Kirsten's table: $6) but I don't have enough room for it. I think the doll rooms/spaces people have made are so neat, but I can't imagine having enough room for all the furniture, etc...it would be nice, though!

Ok, now my dream really got out of hand!

Just for laughs, I put all the items I would love to have for each girl in my online wish list and then added them up....over $5,500!!!!

This includes lots of furniture items and all the historical dolls including Nellie, but not Kirsten as we do have her.

That's just waaaaaayyyyy to funny! But wouldn't it be hysterical to place that order and everything would get shipped for only $20.95!

Heck, you might need your very own UPS truck! But the best part would be explaining to hubby--"But honey, I got a really great deal on shipping."

I wish I could help [img]smile.gif[/img] I never been to AGP and our trip to NY isn't scheduled until October. I'm sure someone else could help, though. I think I've seen pictures of the displays there, but I can't be sure of it.
